Write rates of up to 260 MB/s will be possible to better support extremely high resolution recording and VR applications.

The new 256 GB Premier One SDXC and MicroSDXC cards are suitable for applications where fast transfer rates are required including up to 8K video playback and recording or even for VR development.

Users can expect high-quality MLC 3D flash memory with read and write rates of 290 MB/s and 260 MB/s, respectively, from the SDXC card. Meanwhile, the MicroSDXC card can provide read and write rates of up to 275 MB/s and 155 MB/s, respectively. Both are operable in the -25 C to 85 C temperature range with support for 90 MB/s RAW video recording in 4K, 8K, and VR applications. Action cameras and 360-degree capture cameras will benefit from the Adata cards as they allow uncompressed recording without major buffering issues or resolution compromises.

The manufacturer promises support for automatic error correction to maintain data integrity as well as varying levels of resistance against water, dust, shock, and x-ray damage in order to survive the stress of outdoor conditions and deployment.

Adata did not reveal prices for either of its new SD cards, but both should be available online and on store shelves starting this month.
