The Acer Aspire AS9802WKMi takes the recent trend for desktop-replacement notebooks to an extreme, with its wide-aspect TFT measuring 20.1in diagonally, and running at 1,680 x 1,050. The screen is nearly an inch thick, and the whole machine weighs a colossal 7.8kg - about three times that of an average notebook. The CPU at the heart of the system is an Intel Core Duo T2300, which, along with 1GB of RAM, pushed the Aspire to an overall score of 1.02 in our application benchmarks. You get discrete graphics too, in the form of Nvidia's GeForce Go 7300. Our 3D benchmarks returned scores of 13fps in Far Cry and 12fps in Call of Duty at our low settings; if you need more power, you could opt for the 9804, which comes with 7600 graphics. An impressive attempt at a good-value portable PC, but the ergonomics let it down;

NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600: The NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 is a middle class video card of the 7000 series and suited for games of the year 2006. The performance is very similar to ATI X1600 / X1700. Compared to the desktop 7600 it is clearly slower.
Lower end of Graphics Cards for users who want to play games. New games should run on these cards, but only with decreased details and mediocre resolution.

Intel Core Duo: Double Core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption. The 2 MB L2 Cache are used together by the double. The maximum capacity of 31 watts is only 4 watts more than with the Pentium M (predecessor). Both cores are lowered automatically and independently of each other by speed steps down to 1 GHz. In addition it now supports also SSE3 instructions. At least it is just as fast as a equivalent Pentium M. With applications, which were designed for multi-processors, the performance can be nearly twice as fast as with the Pentium M (e.g. CineBench around 86% fast)

20.1": This format for notebook displays exists since 2006 for giant desktop replacement laptops and yet is rarely used. There does not exist any bigger screen for laptops. Critics request or deny, that these devices can be called notebook, laptop or mobile computer.
The DTR-Laptops can't be carried easily, need much current, but on the other side texts can be read easily and high resolutions are no problem. DTR mainly are intended for stationary usage on desks, where the weight and the energy need are unimportant.

7.8 kg: This laptop is extremely heavy. Even babys can be carried easier. Only few desktop replacements with 20 inch display fit in this class of weight.
Acer: Acer is one of the international manufacturers with the most market shares worldwide and the most reviewed notebook models in the German and English speaking countries. Nevertheless only few of the models achieved top rankings according total ranking and price/value evaluation.
73.33%: This rating is bad. Most notebooks are better rated. This is not a recommendation for purchase.
