New member of the Aspire family, here's the Acer 5755G. This 15.6-inch notebook has a measured configuration with a Core i5 processor and a mid-range NVIDIA graphics card. The Acer Aspire 5755G is a good choice if you're looking for a multimedia machine that won't break the bank. If you're doing any photo work however, you will need to link it up to an external monitor.

The Acer Aspire 5755G's processor isn't ground breaking, but its graphics card delivers superb gaming performance. Acer has made a right decision by opting for an i5 over an i7. This move has enabled it to pack in a great graphics card, while keeping the cost reasonable. What's more, the battery life is great considering the notebook's impressive specs. Finally, at the street price of Rs 44,620, this laptop is ideal for folks looking out for a mid-range multimedia monster.

With the Aspire 5755G Acer has delivered a solid home PC laptop that's a good all-rounder. It performs well for applications, video and gaming, with better than average multimedia performance, and has reasonable battery life. All-in-all, just what we'd expect from a Core i7 Sandy Bridge machine - especially for under £900. If you're after a first home machine, or an upgrade to the latest technology, the Aspire is well worth a look.

The Acer Aspire 5755G 15.6in notebook is slim and unassuming, but its unremarkable exterior hides a powerful Core i7 CPU and a decent Nvidia graphics card which together are ideal for business multitasking, if not quite the full gaming experience. It's just a shame there's no Full HD display.

The 15.6-inch Acer Aspire 5755G isn't the sort of laptop that likes to brag. The Acer Aspire 5755G is no beauty, but it does offer impressive performance. If you're looking for a beefy laptop that will plough through your work, but isn't the type to shout about it, the 5755G is definitely worth a look.

At just shy of £900, the Aspire 5755G is a decent bargain, even if it can’t quite compete for looks or portability with the likes of the slightly cheaper Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E420s. However, if you want a portable computer that won’t baulk at demanding tasks, the Aspire 5755G offers superlative performance. A higher-resolution screen would be nice, as would be slightly more practical battery life, but for practical, everyday computing, from a machine you won’t need to replace before it sees its first birthday, the 5755G is a very solid buy.

The Acer Aspire 5755 retails at a price of Rs. 29,354 and comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Basic. Build quality and battery life was average, but it is quite cheap as compared to the Lenovo G570, which has similar specs. The 5755 will appeal to people wanting a no-nonsense, no-frills notebook. As far as design is concerned, the all-metal finish of the Lenovo Z570 could appeal more to some. However, on its own the Acer Aspire 5755 is a decent buy.

Whether the Acer Aspire 5755-6482 is the right choice for you depends on your specific needs. If all you care about is a system’s facility handling raw productivity chores, either of our Editors’ Choice winners, the Asus U56E-BBL6 or the Lenovo IdeaPad V570-1066AJU will get you there for only a little more money. If you care less about that and just want gaming potential, the less-expensive Gateway NV55S05u is what you want. If battery life is your chief concern, the Asus U56E-BBL6 and Samsung NP300E5A-A01UB have it in spades. But for those seeking balance in as many areas as possible, the jack-of-many-trades 5755-6482 is a fine way to go.

All-rounder with GeForce GT 630M. Acer is one of the first manufacturers to build in the brand new GeForce 600 series from Nvidia. The battery life of the Aspire 5755G isn't to be neglected either, despite the installed quad core CPU and midrange GPU: The Optimus technology makes it possible. The stylish design and attractive price are other selling points.

With its policy of providing systems for different needs and pockets, Acer presents its Aspire 5755G model for your delectation. The Acer Aspire 5755G joins the already well-populated 15.6-inch laptop sector. This particular model weighs in at 2.5kg which is hardly lightweight but still makes it portable when the need arises.

The laptop market is definitely a crowded one, but the laptops with an affordable price without sacrificing performance are the ones that stand out. The Acer Aspire 5755-6647 is a 15-inch notebook that doesn't break the bank yet offers solid performance, good battery life and a nice-looking display.

For $599, the Acer Aspire 5755-6647 is a good choice for bargain-hunters. It delivers solid performance for everyday tasks and a quality 15.6-inch display for enjoying multimedia. Our only issue with the system is it's narrow and somewhat stiff mouse bar. Consumers looking for more graphics oomph should check out the AMD-powered $599 Gateway NV55S05u, but the Acer beats it in most other aspects. Overall, the Acer Aspire 5755-6647 is an attractive value-priced laptop.

Acer: In 1976, the company was founded in Taiwan under the name Multitech and was renamed Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.
Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M:
Mid-range graphics card based on the GT 435M chip (GF108) with higher clock rates and DDR3 support.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel HD Graphics 3000: Integrated graphics card in the Intel Sandy Bridge processors (Core ix-2xxx). The HD 3000 is the faster (internally GT2 called) version with 12 Execution Units (EUs).
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M:
Multiple models based on various chips of the Fermi generation. Specifically, the GT 630M exists in GF108/GF106/GF116 variants, but are all essentially renamed GeForce GT 540M or 555M GPUs. A 28nm GF117 variant exists as well with reduced power consumption.

Intel Core i5:
2410M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.6-2.9 GHz) and the GPU at 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).
2450M: Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.5 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.8-3.1 GHz) and the GPU at 650 (1300 MHz Turbo).
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
2630QM: Fast Quad-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
2670QM: Fast Quad-core processor clocked at 2.2-3.1 GHz based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
Intel Core i3:
2310M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.1 GHz and features the Turbo Boost 2.0 only for the graphics card (650/1100MHz).
2330M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.2 GHz and features the Turbo Boost 2.0 only for the graphics card (650/1100MHz).

2.642 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
79.05%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
