AYN has announced that the Odin 3 will get two additional colors, bringing the total to five. Previously, the manufacturer had announced that the Android gaming handheld device would be available in four color options, three of which were already confirmed. The fourth color was supposed to be decided by the community via a poll.
Now, AYN has revealed that in addition to the three already confirmed colors — Black, White, and Rainbow — the Odin 3 will also be available in Clear Blue and Clear Purple, the two color choices its community members were presented with. While AYN didn't give a reason for selecting both colors instead of one, the result of the poll shows that it ended in a tie.
So rather than choose only one, it decided to add the two colors, both of which are actually cool-looking. There's also the possibility that the plan all along was to release the Odin 3 in five colors, but AYN decided to get its fans “involved” in the decision-making process.
The Clear Blue and Clear Purple color options will be available in all configurations except for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is limited to black. As previously reported, the AYN Odin 3 will start at $299, and pre-orders are set to go live on Indiegogo starting at 9:30 PM (CST) on September 7.
The Odin 3 has a 6.0-inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, like the Konkr Pocket Fit Elite, and paired with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The Android 15-powered handheld has a cooling fan, an 8,000mAh battery capacity with support for 60W fast charging, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a MicroSD card slot, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort support.
