AOC launches affordable 420 Hz gaming monitor with Fast IPS panel and HDR400

AOC has introduced a new gaming monitor in China with support for a 420 Hz refresh rate. By default, the panel operates at 240 Hz when connected through the HDMI port. However, when connected to the DisplayPort port, the display can be overclocked to the marketed refresh rate.

Speaking of the panel, it's tagged as a Fast IPS screen that features a 1080p resolution and has support for Adaptive Sync. This 24.5-inch display also has DisplayHDR 400 certification, which, according to AOC, will make the gaming monitor output rich and detailed images.

The company further highlights that the Fast IPS panel is rated for 1 ms (GTG) response time, promising smoother and responsive visuals. This screen also comes with hardware-level blue light optimizations, and there's DC-dimming and flicker-free technology for comfortable gaming sessions.

There are other gaming-centric features as well, including a dedicated G-Menu for quick modifications and Dark Boost for making darker environments of games easily visible. Other highlights of the Fast IPS panel that this gaming monitor features are 92% DCI-P3 color coverage and "professional-grade" Delta E<2 calibration.

Pricing-wise, the AOC 25G4K launched in China with a price tag of CNY 1,599, around $223. There's no official word on when the company will bring this affordable gaming monitor outside the Chinese market, but AOC offers most of its products to the global market. So, this high refresh rate 1080p monitor could make an international debut soon.
