A giant from China. With a panel diagonal of 5.7-inches ZTE follows the trend of ever bigger smartphones. A strong SoC, a camera with a 13 MP sensor and LTE support will make the device a hit - and all of this for a low price. Find out what the downsides are in our test review.

ZTE Grand S Flex
ZTE has been trying hard to establish its name among the major phone manufacturers. With the ZTE Grand S Flex, it might very well do so. This mid-range phone is a little fatter than its predecessor but at 6.9 mm thick, few will even notice it and fewer will mind. The bulkier size is a price to pay for the larger battery it houses. The 2300 mAh battery is able to last for 2 days with casual usage.
The 5 inch screen comes with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, which is not full HD but is still pretty clear in its own right. The 294 ppi is rather decent, although not the best. The ZTE Grand S Flex is powered by a dual core 1.2 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM. Although this specification is a minor downgrade from its predecessor, the performance of the device is not affected too badly. Unfortunately, it does not come with a micro SD card slot, so users have to stick with the 16 GB internal memory.
All in all, the ZTE Grand S Flex is a cheaper version of more expensive ZTE models that sacrifices processing power and display for more functionality with a longer lasting battery.

For $100 plus a two-year contract, U.S. Cellular has better options than the ZTE Grand S Pro. While its graphic performance and display are impressive, the short battery life, deceptive camera and outdated version of Android give us pause. We would be more inclined to spend $100 more for the Samsung Galaxy S5 or save $50 and buy the Apple iPhone 5S. Either way, you'll get a better camera and similar performance.

After impressing us not too long ago with the ZTE ZMAX, a prepaid phone attached with a killer price point, the ZTE Grand X Max+ continues the momentum for the company that’s really making its presence felt in the US prepaid market. With a sticker price of $199.99 through prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless, the Grand X Max+ offers quite a deal of value for its price, performance, and specs. It’s certainly not like some of the premium offerings we see overseas from the company, but in the budget smartphone space, the Grand X Max+ is a big phone with big dreams – and it’s seriously one to think about too!

If you've been yearning for an extra-large Android phone but are on a tight budget, the $199 ZTE Grand X Max+ is a solid buy. The phablet's 6-inch display produces bright and beautiful images (albeit at a relatively low 720p resolution), and its 9-hour-plus battery life ensures that you can take this device out all night with confidence.

Iâve never used a ZTE device before this unit and just like many other people here in North America, I thought that ZTE might be more of a "budget quality" device. After using this device exclusively for about a month, my thoughts have changed a bit. The phone certainly isnât a flagship device, but itâs a whole lot more than a budget device as well.

ZTE Grand S3
The ZTE Grand S3 is a simple Android Smartphone with an ingenious new feature named EyeVerify. As the name indicates, it is a biometric scanner which scans the user's eyes to unlock the phone. This phone is targeted at business users and the features including a dedicated document viewer and photo and video editor are for professional use. The design of the phone is a simple candy bar design with a thickness of 9.8 mm. It features a large 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels capable of displaying 16 M colors. The CPU onboard is a 2.5 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3 GB of RAM. With these specifications, multitasking on this Android 4.4 Smartphone should be smooth. The internal memory is 16 GB and the memory capacity can be expanded by up to 64 GB with a microSD card. The fairly large 3100 mAh battery could last an entire working day with a full charge. The ZTE Grand S3 has a 16 MP rear camera with face detection and a front facing camera with 8 MP. The video recording capability is a remarkable 2160p at 30 fps for its rear camera and 1080p at 30fps for its front facing camera. In terms of network capabilities, LTE is supported for this ZTE model. Having said all that, this device is ideal for those who are interested in trying out the new eye scanner and the high definition camera.Specifications

Eye-scanning is the only thing that really makes this phone really stand out, otherwise it’s not a particularly interesting device, despite strong specs. It’s currently only running Android 4.4, which feels a bit dated on a flagship phone with such a large hi-res screen. The design of the phone doesn’t help much either. It’s thick at 9.8mm and looks like it was designed simply to house the technology inside it, lacking character and style.

It's interesting to see a new development in mobile security being implemented in ZTE's Grand S3, but it's certainly not the most ideal or practical feature, and it's essentially the only thing that makes this smartphone stand out from the crowd. That said, its specs make it a good all-rounder that, should it make its way to the UK, could attract some intrigued buyers thanks to the Eyeprint ID.

ZTE Grand X2 Z850
The ZTE Grand X2 Z850 is a new addition to ZTE's Grand X family, which is said to be equipped with functionality and style at an affordable price. Its slim design of only 9.3 mm is comfortably to holds and makes portability more convenient for the users. With a 5.0 inch IPS HD display, clear images and videos are expected and this model is also enforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology, making scratches less probable and prominent. Its Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz may not be spectacular compared to high-end smartphones, but the phone provides a good balance of performance, connectivity and battery life for light-to-medium users. In addition, the ZTE Grand X2 Z850 is equipped with decent cameras consisting of a 8 MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front camera and the capability to record 1080p videos. Another notable feature is its 2480 mAh lithium ion battery, which provides a standby time of up to 12 days and a talk time of up to 7 hours. This Android 5.1 Lollipop phone features 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The storage capacity can be expanded by up to 32GB with a microSD/microSDHC card.Specifications
