A 40-minute unfiltered PS5 build of Wreckreation leaked a day before release, showcasing Burnout‑inspired high‑speed arcade racing with loops, big jumps, track‑building, and destructible elements, even as viewers pointed out inconsistent performance and bugs that could perhaps be attributed to an earlier build.

Just one day before Wreckreation’s launch, 40 minutes of unfiltered gameplay footage have surfaced online. The leak featured a raw build of the game running on the PlayStation 5. The leak showcased some promising arcade racing that harkens back to the heyday of the Burnout series

The 40-minute leak, uploaded to YouTube by Flotutu, showcases Wreckreation’s high-speed arcade racing, featuring loops, big jumps, and sharp track sections, with elements of destruction similar to the Burnout series, and a fair bit of track-building mayhem from Trackmania.

While the leaked footage has stirred some hype among long-time fans of the Burnout series, fans have noticed a few rough edges in what seems to be an early build of the game. Vehicles apparently collide and glitch into the frame of oncoming traffic, and player-controlled cars come to a halt after completing missions, breaking immersion.

Other issues noticed by viewers included inconsistencies in vehicle destruction models and frame rate dips on the PS5 port. Considering this is footage from an early build, it’s safe to assume the developers have already rolled out bug fixes along with a performance patch to address Wreckreation’s apparent technical issues.

Despite the minor bugs, the leaked footage gives us a sneak peek into a spiritual successor to the Burnout series, and it seems promising for the most part. Online, the gaming community’s reactions have been mixed, with some calling the racing floaty, as cars “ping off of one another like gnats.”

However, that’s what fans seemingly want from the developers of Burnout – high-speed arcade racing over weighted realism seen in simulation racers like Gran Turismo

Published by THQ Nordic and developed by Three Fields Entertainment, a studio composed of veterans from Burnout and Need for Speed, Wreckreation aims to fill a 17-year void left by the last Burnout title, Burnout: Paradise, which released in 2008.

Wreckreation promises a sprawling open-world map with stretching highways, in-depth vehicle customization, and track-building, allowing players to create their own custom circuits. Whether the game lives up to fan expectations will be revealed once it’s released.

Wreckreation releases today, October 28, 2025, on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
