It’s easy to find angry and exaggerated stories around the web about the iPhone 7 and its lack of a headphone jack. Similarly, the then-new notched display of the iPhone X had also seemingly split the userbase into two camps: those who found the notch too distracting and those who weren’t bothered by the notch at all. People tend to jump to conclusions shortly after initial announcements to give their early impressions and thoughts especially when it comes to something controversial.
Fast-forward three years and now almost every mid-range to flagship smartphone – iPhone or otherwise – come with notched displays and only the potential for a 3.5 mm audio jack. What were once unique and controversial features have become the norm for the public to experience and digest firsthand.
If you’ve been an advocate of headphone jacks or a naysayer or notched displays, we want to hear if your opinions have slowly changed over time. Have you adapted or grown accustomed to these “drawbacks” on the newest smartphones? Are they no longer a factor in your next smartphone purchase? Or perhaps you find the audio jack to be even more desirable than before?
