The Vueroid S1 4K Infinite focuses strictly on hardware reliability and video capture. The battery-free file system prevents corrupted clips, and the physical buttons make in-car adjustments simple without taking eyes off the road. The TRRS cables route more easily through interior trim than thick USB wires, and the included hardwire kit enables parking mode without being a big battery drain. However, the wide 151-degree front lens warps the edges of the footage, making raw license plate capture at night difficult. The included AI enhancement features help solve this problem and ultimately create an effective capture system, even if it needs a bit of post-processing. All in all, the Vueroid S1 delivers a stable dash cam experience with everything needed for 24/7 coverage on a daily driver.

Unboxing, hardware, and installation
Unboxing the Vueroid S1 4K Infinite is straightforward. The package includes the front camera, the rear camera, mounting hardware, and the hardwire cable. Instead of using USB-C cables to connect the rear camera, Vueroid opted for traditional auxiliary-style TRRS cables. While this might seem older, these thinner cables prove significantly more robust and far easier to snake through vehicle trim pieces.
The hardware itself feels well built and not too plasticky. The camera features physical buttons for main functions, a major improvement over touchscreens or hidden toggles, making it easy to use while driving. Internally, the camera completely skips a traditional battery or supercapacitor. Instead, it uses a proprietary file system that pre-allocates memory, ensuring that if power is suddenly cut, the current video file saves instantly without corruption. Even without a capacitor, there were no missing recordings during testing.
App features
The S1 features a companion app for settings adjustments and video downloads, connecting via dual-band 5GHz Wi-Fi. The initial setup process was a bit annoying, as the app struggled to connect to the camera reliably over the self-hosted Wi-Fi network. However, once the initial handshake finished, the connection remained stable for future drives.
While the connection is stable, the video feed has a noticeable three-second delay when viewing the live stream on a smartphone, even on the faster 5GHz Wi-Fi option. The software lets users adjust settings, and new owners should immediately turn down the driving event detection. Out of the box, the G-sensor is incredibly sensitive; even a standard bump or pothole can trigger a loud ding and an event notification. Lowering this sensitivity stops the constant alert fatigue.
The dual Sony Starvis 2 sensors deliver exactly what is expected from premium hardware, providing clean video that is on par with other premium dash cams. Daytime recording is sharp, with the 4K front and 2.5K rear cameras capturing environmental details easily.
Nighttime performance presents a mixed bag. The overall night vision illuminates dark roads well, but capturing fast-moving license plate numbers remains a challenge. The extremely wide 151-degree front lens introduces noticeable edge warping. Combined with raw video playback and standard glare, reading plates without Vueroid's AI post-processing suite is difficult. Supported AI features are license plate restoration, privacy protection (blur license plates for sharing footage), and Infinite Plate Capture (IPC) for nighttime plate capture. While plate restoration works well in the daytime, the dash-cam struggled with motion blur and capturing moving license plates at night. At a stop, it captured plates well, but at any other time it was a true toss-up, even with these enhancement features available.
For parking protection, the included hardwire kit works exactly as expected without pulling crazy amounts of power from the car battery. It features an extremely low-power mode that uses under 2mA to prevent battery drain. Sticking to a 2-channel setup like this is a good choice for long-term battery health, since 3- or 4-channel setups often drain weaker car batteries quickly.
