Vivo X9 & X9 Plus: Midrange selfie phones with front dual-cam

After releasing the entry level Vivo V5 and the high-end XPlay6 last week, the Chinese company who is now among the Top 3 smartphone manufacturers in China also released new midrange phones for selfie fans. The Vivo X9 and X9 Plus are the first to feature a front dual-cam that allows for selfies to look better with artificial bokeh effects around them. The dual-cam module consists of a 20 megapixel Sony IMX 376 sensor with an aperture of F/2.0 plus a second 8 megapixel lens for collecting depth information. Of course Vivo also added a front side LED flash.
On the back side, both phones carry a 16 megapixel sensor with Phase Detection Autofocus. Vivo added a AKG4376-DAC for better audio quality. Dual-Band WiFi up to 802.11ac is supported, Bluetooth 4.2 as well. The modem lacks support for international LTE-bands outside of Asia, at least on the Chinese model. Android 6.0.1 comes preinstalled with a flavor of FunTouchOS 3.0 on top.
Vivo X9
The smaller model comes with 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display featuring Full HD-resolution and integrating a 14 nm-Snapdragon 625 processor together with 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of onboard storage, that unfortunately is not expandable. A 3,050 mAh battery fits into the 7 mm metal case of the X9. Both versions of the X9 are not being sold cheap. The 64 GB variant comes in at around $404 while the 128 GB version will set you back $433. Vivo will start selling the X9 November 24th in rose and golden color options.
Vivo X9 Plus
The bigger version of the X9 comes with a 5.88 inch display but not with a Super AMOLED panel. Instead, Vivo opted for an IPS panel on the X9 Plus, again featuring Full-HD resolution. There will only be one version of the X9 Plus with Snapdragon 653 processor, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage. The slightly bigger 7,45 mm metal case of the X9 Plus is able to hold a 4,000 mAh battery. The Plus-model will also come in rose and gold color options but won't be available until December or early January. So far no pricing information was released for the X9 Plus.
