The Anker wireless car charging pad is expected to see a Qi 2.2 update. Per a recent leak, it will come with the model number A2933, and it's expected to cost $69.99 in the US. To compare, the current-gen non-Prime version of the wireless charger costs $60.99, and it maxes out at 15 W fast charging.
As for the upcoming model, it will reportedly be called Prime MagGo Qi v2.2 Wireless Car Charging Pad, and thanks to the Qi 2.2 upgrade, the wireless charger will be able to offer up to 25 W fast charging. Of course, the leak suggests that the charging speed won't be the only improvement.
To be specific, the leak hints that the upcoming Anker Prime wireless charger will feature a built-in cooling fan. This upgrade should help with keeping the phone cool, which will eventually ensure stable charging. There will seemingly be a power indicator as well.
It seems that Anker has slightly updated the design as well, with the newer version appearing a bit longer than the non-Prime current-gen version. The leak also notes that there will be support for 45 W USB Type-C input, and given that it's a car wireless charger, the unit is expected to ship with a car power adapter.
There's still no word on when the updated Anker Prime MagGo Qi v2.2 wireless car charging pad will release. However, as the charger has already been certified by the Wireless Power Consortium, the launch could be on the horizon.
