Two new Xoom models appear in Verizon's system

Teaser
"Pasteur" and "Fleming" Motorola tablets allegedly landing soon for Verizon customers

The recently leaked Motorola Xoom Media Edition and Xoom 2 tablets could be making its way to one of American’s largest telecommunications network.

According to droid-life, two new Android tablets from Motorola are already recognized by Verizon systems. The first one, called MZ609 “Fleming”, is predicted to be the Xoom Media Edition tablet, while the MZ617 “Pasteur” model is expected to be the flagship Xoom 2 tablet.

Other than the model and codename leaks, nothing else is currently known about what “Fleming” and “Pasteur” will actually bring to Verizon customers. Exactly why Motorola decided to base codenames off of famous biologists for its upcoming line of tablets is a mystery in itself.

Nonetheless, the leak more or less confirms that new Motorola tablets are on their way to store shelves, possibly before the end of this year. The original Xoom launched at exorbitantly high prices and faced modest sales at best, so it will be interesting to see how Motorola can price the new tablets as competitively as possible.
