The leaked $800 price point for the Motorola Xoom prior to the official announcement is still true, but Reuters is now reporting that Motorola will also be releasing a WiFi-only version of the Xoom for cheaper. Priced at “around $600,” the WiFI-only model will lack the 3G connectivity with Verizon Wireless, which for a $200 in savings, might be worth it for some. The $800 and $600 price structure will likely give the Xoom more of a competitive edge in terms of aggressive pricing against its competitors, such as the upcoming HTC Flyer and HP TouchPad whose prices are yet to be officially confirmed.
The 10.1-inch Motorola Xoom could be launching as early as this month on the 24th according to Best Buy leaks, and will sport a dual-core Nvidia 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of flash memory and support for 1080p and Adobe Flash content.
