Thypoch unveils 198g lightweight 35mm f/2 full frame lens

The latest lens from Thypoch is marketed as a particularly compact wide-angle lens, as the lens is just 3.5 centimetres long and only protrudes 2.7 centimetres from the camera when mounted. The body has a diameter of 5.2 centimeters and weighs 198.6 grams.
Voigtländer offers an even more compact and faster lens with the 35 mm f/1.4 Nokton VM II, but Thypoch aims to achieve better image quality with a design consisting of eight lenses in five groups, including one lens with an aspherically ground surface.
The lens can only be focused manually from a distance of 0.5 meters, whereby a noticeable click marks when the distance falls below 0.7 meters and thus the rangefinder-coupled focus range. A lens coating, which the manufacturer calls 'Epoch Coating 84', is intended to give photos a warm retro look. An aperture with ten blades and a 39 millimeter filter thread complete the feature set.
Pricing and availability
The Thypoch Ksana 35 mm f/2.0 full-frame lens is now available at the manufacturer's online store. The lens costs $599 without lens hood, or $649 with lens hood. Front and rear caps are supplied in either case. Shipping is free, but the price does not include import tax and customs duties. The lens is only available with a Leica M mount, but can also be used on Sony E, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X and Canon RF cameras using an adapter.
