Dell's Latitude 7340 not only scores with its reduced dimensions and a weight of just over 2.4 lbs during testing, but can stand up to its slightly larger 14-inch sibling, the Latitude 7440, in terms of performance and endurance.

The 13.3-inch compact Dell Latitude 7340 only presented a few weaknesses during our test. We particularly focused on how the subnotebook, equipped with the Intel Core i5-1345U from the 13th generation including vPro, performs in comparison to the somewhat larger Latitude 7440 with a 14-inch display and the same hardware.

According to the benchmarks, the smaller size of the 2.4 lbs magnesium case in the tested ultralight version of the Dell Latitude 7340 has a slight impact on performance. The measured CPU performance values are somewhat lower than those of the 14-inch device, but the difference is mostly negligible. The 13-inch laptop also outputs fewer frames per second in gaming performance, but this does not significantly affect playability. After all, video games usually only run at the lowest settings anyway, which is not surprising for this model.

While the installed 512 GB SSD does not set any records, the matte and adequately bright Full HD+ display with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, as well as the optional mobile connectivity, make a great impression. The Dell Latitude 7340, equipped with two Thunderbolt ports, also impressed us during testing with its silent functioning and long battery runtimes. Thanks to the identically sized battery and lower power consumption, the battery life surpasses that of the Latitude 7440.

Our review provides more insights and numerous measurements of the 13.3-inch compact Dell Latitude 7340. The notebook can be configured with various options directly from Dell. It is also available in various configurations from retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy.
