The Nokia X5 might launch tomorrow in China

The Nokia X5 is apparently ready to bring the notched display in the sub-US$200 area of the market, something that big brands are not bothering with nowadays. The launch of this handset is scheduled for this week but remains to see if HMD Global decides to bring this MediaTek-powered device to other markets as well.

According to the latest leak, the Nokia X5 sports an unknown MediaTek processor, next to up to 6 GB of memory, 32 GB or 64 GB internal storage, an 8 MP selfie shooter, a dual camera setup on the back that combines a 5 MP and a 13 MP sensor, all powered by Android 8.1 Oreo and a 3,000 mAh battery. The notched display is quite generous, but the 5.86-inch diagonal only accommodates 1,520 x 720 pixels.

The Nokia X5 is expected to start at the equivalent of US$150 in China, so the most affordable model should be priced below US$200 in other markets. The problem remains its availability outside China, but we should find out more once it launches there.
