Huawei has released a new update to the P20 and P20 Pro. The update, which is rolling out in Europe, contains system stability improvements. Neither device are ever likely to receive EMUI 10.1 or EMUI 11, though.

The P20 and P20 Pro may have received their last OS upgrade, but Huawei is still issuing software updates to its former flagships. According to Huawei Central, Huawei has begun rolling out EMUI 10.0.0.182 to the two devices as an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade. The update has gone live in Europe and will probably be subject to a staggered rollout.

EMUI 10.0.0.182 is a rather large update at 537 MB, but it seems that Huawei has only made minor changes. Huawei Central notes that EMUI 10.0.0.182 does not update the device's Android security patch, which seems odd. Instead, EMUI 10.0.0.182 'improves system stability in certain scenarios'. In other words, Huawei may have reduced some crashes and squashed some bugs.

If your P20 or P20 Pro is yet to receive EMUI 10.0.0.182, then you can attempt to trigger its download manually. To do so, you can either check for updates from within the main Settings menu or the Huawei Support app. If you want to do the latter, then you will need to click on the Service tab in the Support app and then the 'update' sub-menu. Once there, you can check for updates to see if EMUI 10.0.0.182 is ready to download.
