Tesla is introducing a new feature, the MultiPass, which allows users charge their Tesla vehicles at non-Tesla charging stations more easily using their Tesla account. Instead of needing different apps, cards, or accounts for each charging provider, everything is managed through the Tesla app or the driver’s existing Tesla key card.
The update was announced in a 17-second video posted by the TeslaCharging X account. It will launch first in the Netherlands, with plans to expand to other countries soon.
To get started, drivers can search for available chargers in the Tesla app, then begin a charging session either through the app or with their Tesla key card. They can also track their charging history in the same place.
This integration removes the hassle of managing separate accounts, payment details, or waiting for physical charging cards to arrive by mail.
Charging costs at third-party stations still depend on that provider’s pricing. However, payment is automatically charged through the default payment method in the Tesla app.
