Deal | Tesla slashes up to $2,000 off select Model Ys; Why now is the time to buy

Tesla is making owning an electric SUV more affordable with the ongoing discounts in the US. The automaker is reducing pricing on the Model Y by up to $2,000.

A detailed search of Tesla’s website at the time of writing this article reveals the promo applies to multiple trims of the SUV. The Long Range RWD can be had for as low as $37,490, offering a driving range of up to 357 miles (EPA estimate). The Long Range AWD with 327 miles of driving range starts from $41,490.

Some of the units come with premium features, such as Stealth Grey paint, 20-inch Helix 2.0 wheels, a tow hitch, a black or white premium interior, and a 1-month premium connectivity trial. Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is available as an $8,000 upgrade.

Tesla estimates that the Model Y will help buyers save up to $6,000 in fuel costs over 5 years, which may prove particularly tempting to drivers considering a switch to e-mobility.

This offer is available based on location and existing stock.

There is another reason, however, why intending buyers should act fast to take full advantage of the discount and incentives. The starting prices quoted above are after adjusting for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit, which expires on the last day of September. This means the Tesla Model Y will become significantly more expensive from October 1.
