Reviews for the TCL 30 SE

The TCL 30 SE is a fairly unremarkable affordable phone that’s cheap, distinctive to look at (from certain angles), and lasts a good while in between charges. However, its display lacks sharpness and pop, its performance is poor, and its camera is extremely inflexible.

For the price, the TCL 30 SE is a decent smartphone, even if it has a few cons that prevent it from being a truly great affordable mobile. Its camera is very serviceable while its battery will keep you going for a couple of days if you don’t use the phone too much. Other plus points include its clean design and simple, easy-to-use software. That said, its performance leaves plenty to be desired, as does its charging speeds, while the fact that it only offers one core software update may turn a few people off.

The TCL30 SE is this year’s iteration in the SE series, replacing last year’s 20 SE. While there are a great many similarities between the two, the differences all seem to be natural evolutions – an upgraded CPU, chipset, GPU and camera, and it’s running the latest version of android.

TCL 30 SE is a viable option for those who require a new phone at a reasonable price range. However, there are no premium features like IP resistance, Glass protection, 5G connectivity, or an AMOLED screen. Some of these features & even better specs can be seen in various other handsets under INR 15000 range. Also, TCL 30 SE is still not available globally, so you must not wait for it as this segment has ample options. Check out other alternatives like Samsung Galaxy M12 or Realme 9i that come with decent specs in almost the same price range. Despite all the different options, it’s up to you and budget which smartphone you want to buy.

Despite the competition, it offers many alternatives in this price range. The TCL 30 SE is a budget solution for the basic user who does not have high needs and expectations from his phone and needs a simple device with modern features. That’s why the 30 SE gives you a beautiful screen, a stylish design, enough performance for everyday tasks, a pleasant user interface, a decent main camera module, and a decent battery life. you get a powerful performance at a low price, so if you are looking for a low-cost phone under $150 at this time, you will not get anything better than TCL 30 SE in this price range.

By itself, the TCL 30 SE is a budget solution for an undemanding user who needs, on the one hand, a simple device, and, on the other, modern features. The new phone has a nice screen with good viewing angles and brightness, a neat discreet design, sufficient performance for everyday tasks, a pleasant UI, a decent main camera module, NFC and decent battery life. But, a 10-watt charger in the box and the charging speed itself leave much to be desired. I would also like to change the macro sensor to at least an 8-megapixel wide sensor. The resolution could be better as well, but you have to compromise something in this price range. The catch is that TCL 30 SE has plenty of competitors in this segment. Even within TCL itself. For example, the ambitious TCL 10 Pro offers a more up-to-date design, an AMOLED display with Full HD resolution and an in-screen scanner, more advanced cameras, including a wide-angle sensor and an adequate 5-megapixel macro. Yes, the battery life is worse, but not by much (and it charges almost twice as fast) and Android version is 11, not 12. Let’s move on.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
