System 76 Darter UltraThin Ubuntu notebook now available for pre-order

System76 unveiled earlier today the 14-inch touchscreen notebook called Darter UltraThin. This light portable weighs 4.6 pounds and comes loaded with Ubuntu 13.10, also packing 5 GB of free space for Ubuntu One Online Storage and Sync.

System76 Darter UltraThin has a rich list of specs that also includes the following:

• Processor:  4th Generation Intel Core i5-4200U
• Memory/Storage: 4 GB DDR3; 500 GB 5400 RPM SATA2 HDD, 5 GB free online storage space 
• Display: 14.1-inch Full HD glossy touchscreen

The price of the base setup mentioned above is $899, but the Darter UltraThin can be customized as the user wishes. Its long list of options includes the Intel Core i7-4500U processor ($89 more), up to 1.2 TB of SSD storage, 3 years of limited warranty and technical support ($195 more), 16 GB of memory ($179 extra) and many more. 

During the pre-order period, clients will only pay $5 for ground shipping in the United States. The Darter UltraThin will beging shipping on October 28.
