Super Mario 3D All-Stars becomes second best selling game on Amazon

Despite its release being more than a week away, Super Mario 3D All-Stars has become the second best selling game on Amazon for 2020. 

That’s thanks to the enthusiastic reception of the game and the excellent sales of pre-orders, which went live after the title was announced on September 3. Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a remastered compilation of three of the most popular Super Mario games (Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy) for the Nintendo Switch. 

Super Mario 3D All-Stars polishes these older titles with upscaled resolutions and improved graphics. Galaxy and Sunshine will also be updated with a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. 

While the title is up for pre-order now, it will see a limited run when it is released on September 18. Nintendo plans to stop selling digital and physical copies on March 31, 2021. 

So what is the best selling game on Amazon for 2020? That award goes to another Nintendo title, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The quirky social simulator saw massive sales upon its release thanks in large part to the Coronavirus lockdowns that kept many people around the world home for several weeks.
