In our review, the Teufel Boomster 4 lives up to its reputation as an exceptionally versatile Bluetooth speaker with a radio function. The model delivers a particularly impressive overall performance in terms of sound: the speaker produces a powerful, comparatively balanced sound with a remarkably wide stereo image for its size. Even at higher volumes, the sound remains largely controlled, which clearly sets the Boomster 4 apart from many more compact all-around speakers.
On the other hand, Teufel has omitted some convenience features that one might reasonably expect in this price range. There is still no app connectivity. It’s also a shame that the previous power bank function has been dropped. Teufel has significantly extended the Boomster 4’s battery life compared to its predecessor, and it’s now rated to last up to 23 hours at medium volume. That should generally be more than enough for a full day of continuous playback, and in most cases, it will last for several days. Of course, battery life depends heavily on the volume level and the connected device.
The battery can be charged via USB-C at up to 60 watts, but cannot be used to power connected devices.
