Sony leaks the Xperia Z4 Tablet with 2K display ahead of MWC 2015

Teaser
The Xperia Z4 Tablet briefly surfaced yesterday on the official Sony website. The main highlights include a 2K display and a high-end chipset.

With just a few days to go until the start of the Mobile Wold Congress 2015 in Barcelona, the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet briefly appeared on the company's website. Besides a photo of the tablet itself, the website also listed information regarding the display resolution. Shortly after the tablet was spotted, the Japanese manufacturer took down the listing.

The leaked photo of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet shows a design that's very similar to that of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, a device that Sony introduced last fall at IFA 2014 in Berlin. Alongside the photo, the website also mentioned that the tablet will come with a 2K display (that's 2560 by 1440 pixels), an undisclosed extremely fast processor, and “industry leading battery performance”. Although the manufacturer did not mention the name of the chip, reason suggests that the Z4 Tablet will feature the octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset form Qualcomm. The official Sony website also hinted that the tablet will be announced on March 3rd, most likely as part of a special event at MWC 2015. At the moment, it is unknown if the Z4 Tablet will be joined on stage by a Z4 "Compact" version.

Previous rumors suggest that the Xperia Z4 smartphone will not be unveiled at MWC 2015. Among many other devices which will be unveiled at MWC 2015, two major Android smartphones will be unveiled at the event, the HTC One M9, and the Samsung Galaxy S6. The Xperia Z4 smartphone is expected to be announced later in the year.
