Simmtronics launches the XPad Freedom Android tablet
Simmtronics has unveiled its XPad Freedom Android tablet at Gitex Shopper in Dubai, claiming it to be "the most highly-advanced tablet ever to be launched in the Middle East". The tablet features a 7.85-inch display and a quad-core processor as well as many other features that make it "the perfect companion for professionals and students who desire both reliable communications as well as optimum convenience".
These are the main specs of the Simmtronics XPad Freedom tablet:
- Processor: quad-core 1.2 GHz (unspecified brand and model)
- Display: 7.85-inch capacitive multitouch
- Camera: 2 MP front and 8 MP back
- Connectivity: 3G and 2G calling (dual SIM), Bluetooth, HDMI, WiFi
- Operating system: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
According to its manufacturer, this slate is the lightest and slimmest of its category but it can still provide "longer lasting battery power" and the ability "to manage both 3G and 2G communications effortlessly". Unfortunately, we have no details about the memory offered by this device and the presence of GPS and other features.
The XPad Freedom is priced at AED999 (~$272) and is distributed across the UAE by Jumbo Electronics, Simmtronics’ exclusive distributor in the country. Pricing and availability in the United States and Europe are unknown at this time.
