Shiba Inu delivered solid gains to those who got in early and now seems stuck, but the not-so-distant future might hold new heights for the popular meme token. Due to the rather high gas fees of the Ethereum blockchain it uses, Shiba Inu aims to move to its own Layer 2 solution, currently known as Shibarium. However, this is a project still under development for now.
ShibaSwap developer Eric M talked about the project on Discord during a Q&A session but failed to come up with any dates. He said that "A timeline is not needed when you trust a project. That's how Shib has worked until now and will keep being like this." and, when asked about the Shibarium's date of arrival, he replied by saying "Soon" without mentioning any date or period. However, he had already disclosed that Shibarium is expected to be ready before Ethereum 2.0, which is scheduled to launch in June 2022.
On the other hand, Eric M said that "Shibarium can't be silently dropped." when a Discord user asked about it being tested and added that a "surprise" release without notice would be an epic evolution.
Shiba Inu's ecosystem should receive quite a few elements in 2022, including the ShibaNet marketplace, the Shibarium blockchain, a partnership with PlaySide Studios, and the "Dog Park" (ShibaSwap 2.0).
Shiba Inu is now at US$0.00003230, a 12 percent increase over the last 24 hours. However, it dropped more than 30 percent in the last month and has risen by almost 350 percent in the last trimester.
