Between the flagship Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and the more affordable Galaxy Buds 3 FE, it’s easy to forget the Galaxy Buds 3 exist. But for those who aren’t a fan of silicone tips or just anything that sits too deeply into their ear canal, the Buds 3 are the better pick, and for a limited time, you can grab these open-fit earphones at a massive 58% off.
The Galaxy Buds 3 are on sale at Woot for an all-time low price of $75. That’s an incredible $105 off of their $180 launch price. Even better, the buds are backed by Samsung’s original 2-year warranty, a perk usually reserved for those buying directly from Amazon, where these buds are still going for $160. Really, this is about as good a deal as you'll find on Samsung’s open-fit buds.
Galaxy Buds 3 pack quite a punch
The main draw of the Galaxy Buds 3 is their open design. They don’t completely seal your ears the way the Buds 3 Pro and other buds do, letting some environmental sound pass through while also avoiding the weird ear pressure sensation some people experience with in-ear tips. What sets them apart from most open-style earbuds, though, is that they still offer active noise cancellation. Just don’t expect them to match the ANC performance of the Buds 3 Pro or AirPods Pro. There are no silicone tips to create a tight seal, and blocking out the outside world isn’t really what these buds are built for.
The Buds 3 don’t have a fancy dual-driver setup like their Pro sibling, but their single-speaker setup still produces decent sound with a warm sound profile, according to Rtings. They also boast the company’s proprietary Samsung Scalable Codec (SSC) and support high-resolution music streaming at up to 24-bit/96Hz, but only on select Samsung phones. Likewise, features like AI-powered Conversation Mode for real-time translations and Adaptive Equalizer require a Galaxy device.
PCMag notes the Galaxy Buds 3 are fine for calls, but their mics don’t quite match the crispness of the AirPods. The battery life is rated for up to 5 hours with ANC, with the case holding an additional 24 hours of power. Other notables include IP57 water and dust resistance (only for buds), pinch and swipe controls, 360 Audio support, Bluetooth 5.3 with Auracast support, multipoint connectivity, and hands-free voice commands. They pair with any Android device, but you’ll have to download the Galaxy Wearable app from the Play Store to access advanced features.
