Last month Samsung sent out invites to an event scheduled for the 28th of May, telling invitees that "a new conversation around health is about to begin". Unfortunately, that conversation looks like it will lack any announcement of new products, at least according to one Samsung rep.
In speaking to Re/code, Samsung exec Stefan Heuser stated that the event "is not a product announcement", though he didn't offer much else. Heuser is the VP of operations for the Samsung Strategy and Innovation Center, the group that is hosting the event later this month in San Francisco.
Of course, the lack of a new product doesn't mean Samsung won't upgrade their existing lineup and new integration with the healthcare and fitness fields could be coming. Unfortunately, we won't know for sure until the 28th comes around, but at least we can temper our expectations for the time being.
