The Samsung NC110 is a very robust and good quality netbook that you can use for general computing and browsing. It is not the most powerful or aesthetically complex netbook in its price range and it does have a couple of weaknesses in performance and design. However, for just under $300, you will find that this notebook can already suffice your needs for a solid, high quality and desirable piece for your daily computing.

Although Samsung arrived late in the netbook sector, it made quite an impact when it did get there with the release of the NC10, a landmark product in its time. Although the Samsung NC110 doesn't do any better than the rest, it does at least as well. With higher battery life, it could have stood out from the crowd a bit more but, as things stand, it's still a netbook you can buy without worrying about making a bad choice.

Battery life, on the other hand, was a different story in a positive way. We were able to get just over 7 hours of battery life, which is above the average for most other similar netbooks.

The Samsung NC110 is a notch above the pack in both looks and stamina. Otherwise, it's just a standard netbook--and unless you are willing to spend the time tuning the unit's software installation, you won't get decent performance out of it.

The Samsung NC110 is a solid entry in the budget 10 inch netbook space. It’s not the most powerful mini-laptop around and it doesn’t have the highest resolution display or the longest battery life. But for under $300 you get a reasonably good keyboard, an adequate processor, quiet operation, decent speakers, and a matte display.

For about the same price, you can pick up the HP Mini 1103 or Toshiba mini NB505, both of which offer slightly better performance and longer battery life. Still, those who like the Samsung brand won't be disappointed with the NC110.

Standing out in any sort of market for budget products is never easy, and making every penny count is key. While some performance issues hold the NC110 down, this is the only netbook to offer strong battery life, 3D sound, and a useful Fast Start feature that will have you working—in Windows—in seconds.

The NC110’s battery is a definite high-point, and for those who simply want an all-day machine that will handle gentle tasks reasonably well, it’s a decent deal, particularly at its current street price of £280. But would it kill netbook designers to come up with something inspired?

The Apple iPad 2s and Motorola Xooms of this world will still reign supreme in the desirability stakes, but for the more level-headed types out there who want something really purposeful, the Samsung NC110's price tag will certainly turn a few more heads than any other netbook before it.

The six hour battery life was good as all my tests were with Wireless and Bluetooth on as well as a good screen brightness. I also used a fair bit of disc activity with various external hard disks. The recharge time (while off) was 140 minutes. I liked the matt white finish for the keyboard and more importantly the trackpad area.

At a list price of $400, the Samsung NC110-A03 would be just an average netbook with long battery life and an excellent keyboard. With street pricing as low as $320, it becomes a very reasonable netbook that offers a dual core processor at the price of many single core competitors. There are still some areas where it could be improved, including a better trackpad design and improved display with wider viewing angles.

Users who want to do nothing more than a little light email and video watching –and who can stump up the extra £100 or £200 – will find that a decent tablet computer suits them better. But if you need to combine portability with power – and a keyboard - the Samsung NC110 fits the bill admirably.

Small and lightweight, the Samsung is a great travelling companion if your demands aren’t great. But should you need something that is both portable and that you can work on, you should look elsewhere. Also, the styling might not be to everyone’s taste – the blue lid and white interior make the Samsung look a little cheap. However, at £240, that’s exactly what it is.

Samsung: Samsung Group is the largest South Korean conglomerate and was founded in 1938. Samsung Group employed 489,000 people in 2014 and is one of the world's largest companies in terms of revenue and market strength. The name Samsung means "Three Stars" in Korean and represents the three sons of the company's founder. The company was founded in 1938 as a grocery store. With its subsidiary Samsung Electronics, founded in 1969, Samsung took up the production of electrotechnical items, focusing on consumer electronics and household appliances at an early stage. Other branches in which the large corporation is active include mechanical engineering, automobiles (Hyundai), insurance, wholesale, real estate and leisure. Samsung manufactures a wide range of electronic products, including smartphones, televisions, home appliances and semiconductors. The company's Galaxy line of smartphones is one of the most popular in the world. Samsung is also a major player in the semiconductor industry, making memory chips and processors for many other electronics manufacturers.
These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3150: Integrated (shared memory) graphics card in the intel Atom N4xx CPUs. Minimally faster than an old GMA 950 and therefore not suited for 3D games or HD videos (only MPEG2 acceleration).

Intel Atom: The Intel Atom series is a 64-Bit (not every model supports 64bit) microprocessor for cheap and small notebooks (so called netbooks), MIDs, or UMPCs. The speciality of the new architecture is the "in order" execution (instead of the usual and faster "out of order" execution). Therefore, the transistor count of the Atom series is much lower and, thus, cheaper to produce. Furthermore, the power consumption is very low. The performance per Megahertz is therfore worse than the old Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz on par with a 1.6 GHz Atom).
N455: Intel Atom CPU for Netbooks with integrated DDR3 memory controller and GMA 3150 GPU. The performance of the system should be only minimally faster than the previous Atom N280 / GMA 950 combination.
N550: Dual core Atom with a TDP of only 8.5 Watt. Because of the slow clock speed of 1.5 GHz it may be sometimes even slower than a N465 Atom CPU.
N570: Dual core Atom processor with a slightly higher clock rate than the Atom N550 and therefore still slower than the CULV processors.

77.58%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
