Samsung Gear Live gets Android Wear 1.5

Samsung Gear Live smartwatch gets Android Wear 1.5 firmware update
Samsung Gear Live
Based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the new firmware does not bring any noticeable changes.

In the long run, Samsung will probably drop Android Wear for its Tizen mobile operating system. However, they have just begun to roll out a minor firmware update to the Gear Live units across Europe, North and South America, and Asia.

Unfortunately, it looks like Android Wear 1.5 does not deliver any new features to the smartwatch. Android Wear 1.4 arrived back in February, and the new version is nothing more but a minor update that patches various issues reported ever since. One of the problems it solves is the bug that resulted in delays when pushing notifications to the wearable.

While most users of this two-year-old smart wearable are wondering about the arrival of the Android Wear 2.0 update, nothing is official yet. Once that major release hits Gear Live, the smartwatch will gain a redesigned interface and overhauled music controls, as well as many other changes.
