The ongoing slew of Black Friday promotions has resulted in hefty discounts for many Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy Z Flip4. Those on the prowl for a laptop will be pleased to know that the Galaxy Book2 Pro has also received a significant price cut. Its 13.5-inch variant can be had for US$750, and its 15-inch version for US$900. Both models use the Alder Lake-based Intel Core i5-1240p processor.
The 40 W chip is tailor-made for portable hardware and isn't suitable for resource-heavy tasks. Additionally, performing any task that requires a dedicated graphics card rate will be nigh impossible due to its integrated Intel Iris Xe iGPU. For that, one needs to opt for a beefier Galaxy Book2 Pro 15 with an Intel Core i7-1260p and an Intel Arc A350M. Thankfully, it can be purchased on Amazon for US$1,400. Hardcore gamers will be better off with a dedicated gaming laptop, such as the recently discounted Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, as the Galaxy Book2 Pro's compact form factor isn't suitable for such workloads.
If you need the extra processing power offered by the Core i7-1260p and not the Arc dGPU, you can save a few bucks by opting for the dGPU-less model for US$1,050. A smaller 13.5-inch screen with the same hardware will set you back by US$900. Our in-depth review of the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro praised the laptop for its portability and impeccable OLED panel, although its 16:9 aspect ratio makes it feel a little dated compared to the swathes of 16:10 laptops on the market. Nonetheless, it fits right into Samsung's budding ecosystem and will serve as an excellent companion to any smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and TWS earbuds from the company.
