SMK outs PadDock 10 for the iPad
SMK has introduced a brand-new speaker dock for the Apple iPad, christened the PadDock 10. The SMK PadDock 10 features a very rare 360 degrees rotation of the cradle grips for the tablet with the speaker being static. And while doing this, the iPad can still play music regardless of the orientation. This is possible because of the position of the speaker right below where the iPad would rest, not compromising the free rotation angle of the cradle grips. The only problem is when you want to listen to the speaker facing you – in that case you’ll have to turn the whole unit around.
Additionally, the dock also has USB support which helps it to derive power from another computer to charge the iPad and also sync with the computer. Although, syncing is optional; you can always turn it off with a toggle switch while still using it to charge the iPad.
The PadDock 10 by itself doesn’t require any power source to work with the iPad. Moreover, the SMK speaker dock features a curved design; and with the iPad on it, is reminiscent of an iMac. The PadDock10 is now available for pre-ordering and will in all probability be shipping to your doorstep by November 1. The SMK product has been intelligently priced at $100, and with the Apple iPad sales trend seeing an upwards direction ever since its launch, the PadDock 10 will surely find a good chunk of buyers for itself provided it justifies the price tag through the quality of the speakers.
