Spreadtrum SC8830 vs Spreadtrum SC9830A vs Spreadtrum SC7731
Spreadtrum SC8830► remove
The Spreadtrum SC8830 is a cheap entry-level ARM-SoC (System on a Chip) that is usually used in Android based smartphones. It is manufactured in 28nm and integrates a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at about 1.2 GHz, a ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU (benchmarks), an LPDDR2/3 memory controller, and a radio module for HSPA+, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.0.
Due to the low clock rate of 1.2 GHz, the four CPU cores are only situated in the low end of Android SoCs similar to the MediaTek MT6589. Beware, in the Samsung Galaxy J1, the SoC is cut down to a dual-core version, and therefore show a lower performance in multi-threaded applications.
Thanks to the 28nm process and the small A7 cores, the power consumption is rather low and therefore the SoC can be used in small smartphones.
Spreadtrum SC9830A► remove
The Spreadtrum SC9830A is an entry-level ARM-SoC (System on a Chip) that is intended for low cost Android-based smartphones with LTE support. It integrates a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at up to 1.7 GHz, the ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics card, an LPDDR2/3 memory controller and an LTE radio.
The CPU performance of the four Cortex-A7 cores are on par with other low-end SoCs like the MediaTek MT8389 and therefore sufficient for daily low demanding tasks like apps and surfing.
The SoC is produced in 28nm and thanks to the low power Cortex-A7 cores, the power consumption is rather low and also suited for small smartphones.
Spreadtrum SC7731► remove
The Spreadtrum SC7731 is a cheap entry level ARM SoC (System on a Chip) that is used mostly for Android based smartphones. It is manufactured in 28nm and integrates a quad-core Cortex-A7 processor cluster, a ARM Mali-400 MP2, an LPDDR2/3 memory controller and radios for up to HSPA+. The CPU cores are clocked at up to 1.3 GHz and therefore the performance is only in the entry level for casual tasks.
Thanks to the small Cortex A7 cores and the 28nm process, the Spreadtrum SC7731 can be used in small smartphones.
