Prestigio Smartbook 116A02

The Prestigio Smartbook 116A02 is an affordable and lightweight laptop designed to be a reliable companion for school, work, internet surfing and watching HD videos on the go. Different from normal laptops, it is not designed to run many applications or play games with. It runs on the Intel Atom Z3735F processor and 2GB DDR3 SDRAM. With the Intel Atom Processor Z3735F processor which consumes low power, the laptop remains cool while operating. The solid state disk helps the operating system and programs boot faster despite the underpowered processor. Even though the solid state disk is only 32 GB, Prestigio notebooks come with 100 GB of cloud storage, so it is a laptop that encourages storage on the cloud. However, half of the 2 GB RAM is used by the operating system and the user is left with only around 1 GB RAM. This makes the Prestigio Smartbook 116A02 not ideal for heavy multitasking. The operating system pre-installed is Microsoft Windows 10.

The Prestigio Smartbook 116A02 has three variants of chassis colours which are black, dark blue and grey space. It is built out of matte plastic which looks like metal and is pleasant to touch. The overall design of the laptop is very minimalistic with low-contrast dye logo on the top lid and neat speakers at the back cover. From a distance, it may even look like a 11 inch Macbook Air. The speakers of the laptop are placed at the back cover. To avoid volume loss, the rubber feet of the laptop is designed to be three millimetres in height. The rubber feet of the laptop also keeps the laptop from slipping. The laptop measures at 290 x 205 x 20.6 mm and weighs at 1130g. For display, it has a 11.6 inch matrix TN TFT with a resolution of 1.366 x 768 pixel. It is coated in a glossy finish which looks nice but reflects bright light glare which is inevitable for glossy displays. The screen can be opened at a maximum angle of 170 degrees. On top of the screen, an HD webcam is also seen built in for video calling. It is capable of capturing at 720p.

The keyboard is a shallow one with very less travel distance but it does the job. The trackpad on the other hand is quite good. On the right side of the laptop is a USB 2.0 and a Micro-HDMI Type-D port and on the left side is another USB 2.0 port, headphone jack and microSD reader. With only USB 2.0 ports available, transferring data onto an external storage device will take more time but still, it is packed with a good set of interfaces despite the compact dimensions of the device. The Smartbook 116A02 is a good laptop for basic users and will be a good alternative to a tablet.

Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail):

Integrated GPU for tablet and notebook Bay Trail SoCs. Based on the Ivy Bridge GPU with four Execution Units and support for DirectX 11.

Intel HD Graphics (Cherry Trail): Integrated graphics card in the Cherry-Trail SoCs. Based on a Broadwell GPU (Intel Gen8) and supports DirectX 11.2. Depending on the SoC offers 12 or 16 EUs.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel HD Graphics 500: Integrated low-end graphics adapter with DirectX 12 support, which can be found in some ULV SoCs from the Apollo Lake series.

AMD Radeon R3 (Mullins/Beema):

Integrated GPU on select AMD Beema or Mullins APUs. Based on the GCN architecture with 128 shader units and a core clock of 350 - 600 MHz.

Intel Atom: The Intel Atom series is a 64-Bit (not every model supports 64bit) microprocessor for cheap and small notebooks (so called netbooks), MIDs, or UMPCs. The speciality of the new architecture is the "in order" execution (instead of the usual and faster "out of order" execution). Therefore, the transistor count of the Atom series is much lower and, thus, cheaper to produce. Furthermore, the power consumption is very low. The performance per Megahertz is therfore worse than the old Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz on par with a 1.6 GHz Atom).

Z3735F: SoC with an integrated quad-core Atom processor clocked up to 1.83 GHz, an Intel HD Graphics GPU and a single channel DDR3L-RS-1333 memory controller.

Intel Celeron:

Celeron N3350: An Apollo Lake family, dual-core, ultra-low-power processor (SoC) that saw the light of day in 2016. Its two cores run at 1.1 GHz to 2.4 GHz; these are not Hyper-Threading-enabled meaning there are no additional threads. This chip has a fairly competent integrated graphics solution, the Intel HD Graphics 500, and eats very little (~6 W). The Celeron N3350 is based on the Goldmont CPU microarchitecture that came to replace Silvermont (2013), bringing with it several welcome improvements. The CPU is Secure Boot-compatible; technically, it will have no issue running 64-bit Windows 11. The average N3350 in our database is just as fast as the venerable Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 is in multi-thread loads; the two cores of this Celeron trail behind a single core of any half-decent CPU such as the Intel Core i3-7130U.

Intel Atom x5:

Z8350: Soc with an integrated quad core Atom processor clocked at 1.44 - 1.92 GHz, an Intel HD Graphics GPU and a dual channel LPDDR3-1600 memory controller.
