Pentium B950 CPU now shipping in laptops
According to Laptoping, the Sandy Bridge-based Pentium B950 CPU is now shipping to manufacturers. Therefore, we should begin seeing multiple notebooks launching with the processor in the near future.
The B950 is a dual-core CPU with an on-die Intel GPU, similar to Sandy Bridge chipsets. The processor is expected to be faster than a similarly clocked Pentium P6200. While we have no benchmarks for the CPU as of this writing, the P950 should be quite similar to the Intel B940 found in the Toshiba Satellite L766-5244.
We expect to have more concrete performance comparisons between the P950 and other Pentium CPUs in the future as more notebooks ship with the processor.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
