Pegatron rumored to manufacture the next HTC tablet
According to sources close to DigiTimes, HTC will be partnering up with Taiwanese electronics manufacturing corporation Pegatron for their next tablet. The portable device will supposedly become commercially available by the end of this year and will sport a 7- or 10-inch touchscreen display.
Just to jog your memory, earlier this year HTC was barred from making Windows RT tablets because of concerns about the company's ability to market them. This would suggest that the upcoming slate computer will be based on an Android (possible Jelly Bean) operating system.
After previous unsuccessful attempts to conquer the market with the Flyer and Jetstream models, HTC is reportedly now ready to reconsider and adjust its pricing policy. Furthermore, the outfit has presumably already poised itself to try and take on the likes of Apple, Microsoft, Samsung and Amazon.
It remains to be seen whether this tablet has anything to do with the one HTC claims will have a “unique selling point” and will soon hit the store shelves in the United Kingdom.
