In addition to unveiling the V-High compatible Medias Tab N-06D model back in February of this year, the largest Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo is now launching another portable device manufactured by NEC. Reportedly, the Medias Tab UL N-08D is the world’s lightest tablet (at 249g) and will hit the store shelves sometime next month.
The 7.9mm thin slate computer is apparently equipped with a 22nm Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 central processing unit that incorporates two Krait cores clocked at 1.5GHz and the integrated Adreno 225 graphics card. Moreover, the new Medias Tab sports a 7-inch WXGA touchscreen display with a native resolution of 1280-by-800 pixels.
According to DoCoMo, the 1seg TV-compatible mobile device is based on an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and offers 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board flash storage (up to 32GB with the built-in micro SD/SDHC card reader slot) and dual cameras (8MP RF and 2MP FF).
Other features supposedly include Wireless LAN, Xi LTE and 3G radios, an integrated GPS receiver, Bluetooth adapter and a 3100mAh battery.
