Nothing teases next 'sublime' product following Ear (1) and Phone (1) releases
Nothing has hinted at the release of a third product, having launched the Ear (1) and Phone (1) to date. While the latter arrived in July, it has been over a year since the Ear (1) debuted globally. Although both products innovated in some areas, they are not without criticism. Worse still, Nothing changed Phone (1) specifications after the smartphone's release and does not plan to issue an Android 13 upgrade until 2023.
So far, the company has only shared the tweet embedded below, teasing that the unnamed device will be 'sublime'. Separately, CEO Carl Pei informed his followers that 'The Animal Kingdom is calling again' and 'Sometimes the answer is sitting right in front of you'. Arguably as cryptic as Nothing's tweet, we suspect that Pei was not referring to Nothing OS 1.1.4, which has now started rolling out gradually.
Based on recent leaks, we suspect that Nothing is teasing the release of the Ear (2), as well as the Ear (1) Stick. For reference, the latter has leaked several times to date, with Amazon briefly listing the earbuds in July. Less is known about the Ear (2), but Nothing has laid the groundwork to release it and the Ear (1) Stick in multiple markets. Currently, it seems unlikely that Nothing will announce another phone, with Carl Pei shutting down rumours of a Phone (1) Lite as nothing more than 'fake news'.
