New Steam free game about fixing androids goes trending with Overwhelmingly Positive rating

Steam gets new free games every now and then, and while many of them turn out to be good, only a few make it to the "New & Trending" list. D1AL-ogue is one of them, and it's doing relatively well in terms of exposure and player feedback.
This new indie free game was released on February 05, 2026. In just a couple of days, it has secured a spot within the top 5 positions of the chart. Currently, it holds over 600 player reviews, and 95% of them are positive, which has made it gain the "Overwhelmingly Positive" overall rating.
Developed by a small four-student team, this new free Steam game is set in Chroma City, a neon-soaked metropolis where the sun doesn't shine. Players get to fill the role of a repair technician, tasked with running a clinic during the city's longest and darkest night of the year.
Gameplay-wise, this Steam free game doesn't focus on combat or high-stakes action. Instead, the core focus is on quiet interactions with android customers that are known as Electronic Vital Entities. The core mechanism centers on the "D1AL" system, a circular diagnostic console that players can control to manipulate the modules inside an android.
Poor decisions made during the manipulation can lead to explosive failures, while careful repairs unlock story paths and deeper conversations with the androids. That is, each repair influences the dialogue of the session, character outcome, and the narrative ending.
The puzzle design, which is woven into the storytelling, makes D1AL-ogue stand out from other narrative-driven puzzlers. However, the short length of the game can disappoint some, and the developers faced some pre-release backlash for using AI audio, which was fortunately resolved before launch.
