New Consumer report gives Macbooks the top spot

Apple topped virtually all the notebook categories, except in the 14” where it chose not to participate

Consumerreports.org has come up with their latest notebook ranking report, and Apple topped in virtually all the notebook categories with their Macbook brand, except in the 14” where it chose not to participate – as reported by Electronista.

The 17” saw both the Macbook Pro 17” models topping the chart with 80 and 81 points (out of 100) followed by HP dv7 with 79 points. The 15” category also saw both the updated Macbook pro topping the chart with 76 and 78 points. The third spot goes to Dell XPS 15.

Macbooks also won the 13” and 11” with both the 13.3” Macbook Air and 11” Macbook Air topping the charts in their respective categories, followed by the Macbooks.

The bottoms of most of the lists were occupied by low-cost systems, with some of Acer and HP occupying those places.
