The Neuro N6 is a new development board with AI image recognition
The Neuro N6 is a new compact board designed for applications such as image recognition, including the use of AI and neural networks. It is advertised as having low power consumption, which could make it suitable for mobile applications.

The Neuro N6 is a new development board designed specifically for image recognition. Buyers should be aware, however, that the board comes with limited computing power in absolute terms. As a result, it does not include an NPU for local acceleration of large language models, for example. Instead, the ST Neural-ART Accelerator is said to deliver 600 GOPS, or 0.6 TOPS. This makes it possible to recognize objects, for instance. As an example, the manufacturer Ohmlab LTD describes how a camera can monitor employees and detect missing personal protective equipment. Users are also not necessarily expected to work extensively with programming, as ready-made projects are already available.

The listed dimensions are 2.09 x 0.90 x 0.35 inches, which means the board can also be integrated into relatively compact projects. Programming is possible through the Arduino IDE. That gives users access to a familiar development environment with many options and extensive documentation. The model can be used in Feather mode, in which case it is intended to fully comply with the Adafruit Feather specifications.

Sensors and actuators can be controlled, which means, in simple terms, that something like a siren could be activated. It supports connecting a camera with a resolution of up to 5MP via MIPI-CSI. Programming and power delivery are handled through USB Type-C, though a battery can also be used. As part of the crowdfunding campaign, the board is currently being offered for at least $92 plus shipping. Cameras and other extras are also available for an additional charge. Delivery is not expected until November, and the usual risks associated with crowdfunding campaigns apply.
