@stufflistings' leak has now officially gained validation courtesy of Flipkart, which confirms that the Moto G96 will indeed launch with a "Segment-Leading 144Hz Curved pOLED Display with IP68 Protection" on the date below.
Slightly edited article continues as follows:
The Moto G85 (now available on Amazon for as little as $211.99 despite its 120Hz pOLED display, 50MP main rear camera and distinctive Motorola x Pantone design) is now all but certain to be succeeded by the G96, according to Mukul Sharma.
The well-known leaker, also known as @stufflistings on X, claims to have learned that the smartphone will launch with a display nearly on par with that of the Edge 50 Ultra.
The G96 will apparently have a comparatively reduced FHD+ resolution and 1,600 peak brightness, but could have a 144Hz refresh rate in common with the 2024 flagship.
The upcoming mid-ranger's pOLED panel might also reproduce 10-bit color across 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut, although it is slated to be curved as opposed to the flat panels of many of its potential contemporaries.
The G96 is also still predicted to run on the last-gen Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. It might make up for that somewhat with a high-end IP68-rated build that sports a range of Pantone Curated Colors, one of which has very Hot Pink vibes.
It is now believed to be unveiled on July 9, 2025, albeit for the benefit of the Indian market only.
