A new listing on the Thailand National Broadcast and Telecommunication Commission's (NBTC) website confirms the existence of the Moto G8 Power Lite. While specifications are still unknown, the handset (which was previously thought to be the Moto Z5) finally has an official name.

Rumors about the existence of a “lighter” version of the upcoming Moto G8 Power have all but been confirmed. A handset called the “Moto G8 Power Lite” recently popped up on the Thailand National Broadcast and Telecommunications Commission’s website.

While the listing doesn’t reveal any of the G8 Power Lite’s specifications, it does confirm that the handset exists and will be called the G8 Power Lite. A listing bearing the same model number appeared on the FCC’s website late last month; that report, which was then believed to detail the Moto Z5, showed that the handset will carry a beefy 5000 mAh battery.

Currently, most of the other specifications of the Moto G8 Power Lite are unknown. However, based on the name, it’s likely the G8 Power Lite will feature less powerful components than the upcoming G8 Power. The G8 Power, for reference, will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, and a 6.4-inch 2300 x 1080 display. Motorola tends to tone down the display resolutions of their cheaper phones, so it’s probable that the G8 Power Lite will feature a 1520 x 720 (19:9 aspect ratio) screen, though that is purely speculation at this point.

What are your thoughts on Motorola’s upcoming G8 line? Let us know in the comments.
