Microsoft MWC 2015 press event scheduled for March 2
Although not exactly surprising, it looks like a lot of new smartphones will be announced at MWC 2015. In the first day of the Mobile World Congress HTC will unveil a new flagship, Samsung is expected to officially introduce two new flagship smartphones, and now it looks like Microsoft also has got something to introduce the very next day.
With the preview beta of Windows 10 for smartphones expected to be unveiled in a matter of weeks, chances are that the new smartphone OS will be at the center of Microsoft's MWC event. Most reports, however, indicate that the Redmond-based giant will also unveil a triad of new Windows Phone 8.1 smartphones. According to rumors, Microsoft will unveil a new entry-level smartphone in the Lumia 600 series, a sequel to the Lumia 1320, as well as a cheaper version of the popular Lumia 830. The cheap Lumia 830 version is expected to come with a 5-inch display and an 8.7MP PureView camera.
It remains to be seen how much media attention the new Lumia smartphones will manage to attract. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9 Hima, two of this year's most important Android smartphones, will both be unveiled the on March 1st.
