Medion unveils new 11.6 inch, FullHD notebook

Priced at £150 (about $240), the Akoya S2218 features a FullHD screen, which is quite a rarity at this price range. Usually we could only expect a 1366 x 768 display for similar money.

The European retailer Medion who sells notebooks under its own brand has just unveiled its new, reasonably priced, 11-inch laptop. The machine is named Medion Akoya S2218 and comes with an Intel Atom (Bay Trail) processor and preinstalled Windows 10 Home operating system.

Priced at £150 (about $240), the Akoya S2218 features a FullHD screen, which is quite a rarity at this price range. Usually we could only expect a 1366 x 768 display for similar money.

As for the rest of specifications, the Medion Akoya S2218 is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. There’s also 32 GB of storage space on board (part of which is occupied by the operating system), expandable via microSD card slot. Other connectivity and expansion options include: two USB 2.0, HDMI and audio, as well as 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. There’s also a DVD-burner on board.

The laptop is 21 mm thick and weighs 1.2 kg. According to Medion, the battery will allow for up to 9 hours of operation. The Akoya S2218 is available via this website.
