Reviews for the Medion P6620

Archive.org versionThis laptop from Medion is being pitched as a back-to-school special, one that would be good for students and pupils for the new term. It’s an Aldi in-store product that goes on sale on Sunday 9 August. It has a 16in widescreen display, which makes it large enough for reading text and for watching movies, but makes the overall size of the laptop too large for easy portability: most schoolchildren are likely to be using the Akoya P6620 solely at home.
An impressive deal, although the Medion Akoya P6620 is not a computer without flaws – notably in the keyboard and trackpad

NVIDIA GeForce GT 220M: The GeForce GT 220M is a relabeled GeForce 9600M GT for OEM laptop sellers. It is for example used in the Medion Akoya P6620 where it uses fast GDDR3 memory. The specs and features are identical to the GeForce 9600M GT.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel Core 2 Duo: This is the Core Duo and Core Solo successor with a longer pipeline and 5-20% more speed without more power consumption. As an addition to the Core Duo design there exists a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU).
The Core 2 Duo for laptops is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors but the notebook-processors work with lower voltages (0.95 to 1188 Volt) and a lower Frontside bus clock (1066 vs 667 MHz). The performance of equally clocked notebooks is 20-25% lower than Desktop PCs because of the lower Frontside bus clock and the slower hard disks.
T6500:
Entry level Penryn based dual-core CPU with a small 2MB level 2 cache and FSB800. Similar to the T6570 but without VT-x.
