Medion Life S5004-MD99707
Medion is a German consumer electronics company which mainly produces computers and notebooks. However, the company also makes smartphones, tablet computers, digital cameras, TVs, household electronic products and fitness equipment, which also have good reviews. The Life S5004-MD99707 is an affordable but decent smartphone. Its outer shell from polycarbonate with a chic metal frame. It measures at 72 x 143 x 8 mm (W x H x D) and weighs approximately 128 g, which is relatively thin and light when compared to similar sized phones. On the left side, there are a micro SD tray and the volume rocker buttons, which look like they were taken out of older generation Samsung devices. A single piece controls the up-down function rather than 2 independent pieces. On the right side, there are the power button and a SIM card tray. The 3.5 mm headphone jack sits on the top side and the bottom side houses the micro USB port with speakers on both of its sides. The antennas run at both sides and the bottom part of the phone. Its rounded edges and silver lining around the top glass piece gives it a slightly premium look. The Medion Life S5004-MD99707 supports dual micro-SIM, which is good for those who have two different numbers or networks. This feature is especially useful for people who travels frequently and use SIM cards from other countries. The smartphones comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 processor, 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. While the internal memory is relatively small at only 16 GB, the storage is expandable up to 64 GB with a microSD or a microSDHC memory card. For the operating system, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is certainly not the latest. There are no words from Medion regarding any upgrades, but the phone does support Medion's OTA (Over the Air) updates. It also comes with a free 30 days trial antivirus software, which provides protection from viruses and malware. The 5-inch IPS display with an aspect ratio of 16:9 features a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. To further protect the display from scratches and damages, it comes with three screen protectors. Two of the screen protectors are anti-glare screen protectors and one is a crystal clear screen protector. Anti-glare screen protectors reflect less to light and capture fewer fingerprints, whereas the crystal clear screen protector delivers high contrast color display, but reflects light and could capture fingerprints. The rear camera of the smartphone is a 13 MP camera with autofocus, flash and digital zoom. The 5 MP front camera is apt for selfies and video calls. The smartphone comes with a 2320 mAh Li-Ion battery, which isn't much, but it is good enough for the screen size and resolution. As for connectivity, the smartphone features WiFi 802.11 b/g /n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and 2G/3G/4G network. The Life S5004-MD99707 is a good choice for a budget friendly decent smartphone. It is a good smartphone for very basic usage. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

5.00:
It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

79.33%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
