MSI begins shipping GT680 Gaming Laptop

Teaser
The $1,600 laptop features Sandy Bridge and GTX 460M

MSI’s latest and probably one of the greatest laptop was first rumored in December 2010, and was announced back at CES this January. Now the newest MSI Sandy Bridge laptop is officially available for purchase at their online store and from certain retailers.

The MSI gaming machine is powered by a Core i7-2630QM, 8 GB of RAM, dual 500GB HDD, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX460M with 1.5 GB of DDR5 VRAM. The GT680 also has a 15.6” Full HD Display, a USB 3.0 Port, MSI’s Cooler Boost Technology and is priced at $1,650.

As expected a notebook of this size and specs isn’t very easy on the battery, and only managed 75 minutes of non-wireless use in a review by hothardware.com. Now while this laptop obviously wasn’t built with portability in mind, it should be able to handle anything else thrown at it.
