90.8% Lenovo ThinkPad T470 (Core i5, Full-HD) Notebook Review | Notebookcheck
New revision of the business classic. The ThinkPads from the T-series represent typical business notebooks for many users. Lenovo does not only equip the new T470 with modern processors and ports, but also a completely new chassis. Update: Luminance on battery power
Lenovo ThinkPad T470 revisited: the laptop that tried to replace my Surface Pro 4
Source: On MSFT English Archive.org version
At the end of the day, the Lenovo Thinkpad T470 is great for someone who is not used to a touch screen device like a Surface Pro 4. It packs incredible specs, great battery life, and access to lots of ports. For me, it tried to replace my Surface Pro 4, but fell short because of the display and lack of touch screen and support for digital pens. That’s not to say that it isn’t worth the price, though, as the business-oriented audience for this laptop will definitely enjoy the caveats that come with an all-day battery life, the 7th generation Intel Core i5 processor, and a beautiful keyboard and trackpad.

Lenovo ThinkPad T470 review – the T470 remains the echelon of business ultrabooks
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
The Lenovo ThinkPad T470 is an excellent business notebook as long as you don’t mind the price tag on this thing. In any case, you get a lot in return – exceptional build quality, portability, reliability, overall great input devices, a wide range of I/O even for a 14-inch device and stable cooling system that also turns out to be pretty silent even under heavy workload. There’s no high-pitch sound coming from the fan.

90% Lenovo ThinkPad T470 Review: All Business
Source: Notebookreview.com English Archive.org version
Honestly, there’s very little to nitpick when it comes to the Lenovo ThinkPad T470. Sure the display is a bit dimmer than we would have liked and the audio quality can produce a tinny sound, but the laptop’s focus isn’t multimedia. This is an enterprise laptop, and it delivers on the core functionality exceptionally well. The T470 has a simple durable design, that will stand up to wear and tear, with built-in security options, and improved accessibility over the T460. There’s a wide selection of ports for connectivity including Thunderbolt 3, strong performance with an ultra fast PCIe SSD. Finally, there’s the keyboard and battery that stand atop the class.

It's not a perfect laptop -- the screen could be a lot brighter and the palm rest ought to be soft-touch -- but the ThinkPad T470 offers the best combination of performance, durability, flexibility and endurance of any business laptop.

In many ways, the Lenovo ThinkPad T470 might be close to ideal for business. It has classic aesthetics, is powerful enough for most office tasks, is comfortable enough to satisfy a wide range of business users, can be configured up or down depending on your budget and needs, and has the potential for 17.5 hours of battery life on a single charge. It costs less than both of its siblings, the T470s and the X1 Carbon (which it also has more ports than). I have no qualms awarding our latest Editors' Choice for business laptops to the ThinkPad T470, which replaces the X1 Carbon.

Durability, portability, performance, battery life, and creature comforts: The ThinkPad T470 has them all. The only reason not to choose it, in fact, is if you prefer a larger (or smaller) screen or insist on a laptop that’s also a statement piece. But for business buyers, college students, or anyone who needs a solid and time-tested notebook for use on the go, the sober ThinkPad T470 is the standard-bearer—and easy to recommend.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.

14.00:

14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.

In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

87.6%: This is an above-average rating. Nevertheless, it should not be forgotten that about one fifth of all tested models receive a better rating.
