The V30 smartphone is approaching its launch and LG is now hyping it with a teaser image in their latest press release. The image represents what looks like the bottom end of the frontal display, with a very slim bezel and curved dual edges just like the Galaxy S8 and the Note8 from Samsung.
LG claims that the display of the V30 will feature a P-OLED panel, which integrates a plastic substrate instead of fragile glass. The plastic allows for the dual curved edge design and is able to better support the Gorilla Glass 5 slab that ensures the protection of the screen. Additionally, the front will feature LG’s FullVision 2:1 QHD+ (1440 x 2880 px) panel with a 20% smaller bezel on the top and a 50% smaller bezel on the bottom, while the LG logo has been moved to the back of the phone. Movie watchers will surely appreciate the inclusion of the HDR10 standard for higher contrast, better framerates and more vibrant colors.
V30 is set to be fully revealed on the 31st of August, one day before the IFA summit starts in Berlin.
